– Cloudy or strong-smelling urine
– Blood in urine

Types of Urinary Tract Infections

1. Pyelonephritis: Affects the kidneys, causing back pain, fever, nausea, and vomiting.
2. Cystitis: Affects the bladder, causing pelvic pressure, discomfort, and painful urination.

Prevention of Urinary Tract Infections

To reduce the risk of UTIs:

– Drink plenty of water and fruit juices
– Wipe from front to back after urination
– Empty your bladder soon after intercourse
– Avoid certain birth control methods that can increase the risk of UTIs
– Practice good hygiene and avoid using chemically made feminine products
